Integrated “Cutter 2000” Option for 6408
AveryTM Dennisons Integrated rotary Cutter Option is strong and dependable, never needs sharpening, and cuts tough materials such as Tyvek reliably. The same 4” wide model #A1168 is used for AP5.4, AP7.t 6404, TTX350, and TTK . Similar models are available for 6405, 6406, and 6408 .
If ordered at the same time as the printer, we will install it before shipping the system.
When used with 640x or AP5.4, the printer can pull-back the material between cuts if desired (“Real 1:1 Cut Mode”), allowing the entire area of a label to be printed on. In the printers’ menu systems, there are settings for the features of Cut Offset and Double-Cut (the ability to entirely cut out a die-cut or notch).
The Integrated Cutter can be installed or removed by the End User in about 5 minutes.
Please note that since the printer stops momentarily between cuts, the maximum throughput of labels when using the Cutter is lessened somewhat; how much is determined by the length of the label (as an example, if printing a 4” long label at 12”/sec., using the Cutter will slow the actual throughput to about 9”/sec., and to about 7 IPS if pulling back between every label in “Real 1:1 Mode”).
The rotary Cutter works by turning about 30 degrees in either direction, cycling back and forth. It is fully powered and controlled by the printer, so no registration marks are ever required.
